Travertine pavers are 1 ¼” thick with sizes ranging from 12” to 16”, to multi sized (versatile) patterns. Typical installation is to remove grass and excavate approx 6”, lay geo textile weed mat, then compact with a granite gravel base of approx 4”, approx 1” sand and portland sub base, then wet set outer edges.
Travertine can also be laid over existing concrete using approx 1” sand & portland then wet set outer edgers, or mortar set ½ travertine tiles with mortar or color exterior grout joints.
